El comercio sucesivo de la producción de cereales en Argentina y Brasil ha puesto de relieve la mayor cuota de mercado del trigo en el período histórico y sigue siendo los principales cosechadores de trigo con Argentina como séptimo mayor exportador de trigo y Brasil como importador. Como efecto de las tendencias y la situación del mercado, los precios mayoristas entraron en una fase sustancial al alza. El aumento de los precios del mercado del trigo en América Latina produjo altos márgenes de beneficio y ganancias. Los precios mayoristas de trigo estimados en la región de Brasil, en el año mayo de 2020 fueron de 1200 reales brasileños y en el año mayo de 2021 fueron de 1600 reales brasileños.
